JAIPUR: The Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation has decided to open its popular Saras milk parlours in all tehsils across the State to supply quality milk products to the consumers in the far-off areas. The rural milk buyers can now look forward to getting a different taste of pasteurised milk which was earlier not available in the villages. The Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje, had suggested - while inaugurating the third phase of the Saras Suraksha Kavach Yojana on April 29 last - that the Saras parlours be opened at the tehsil level. The federation has accordingly formulated an action plan to make available its products at the tehsil headquarters. An official release issued here on Thursday pointed out that the scheme would help create new employment opportunities for the rural youth and expand the market of the Saras products. The scheme is likely to produce good results on the lines of the similar venture launched recently for the school children in several towns. The federation has invited applications from those desiring to establish the parlours on its behalf and prescribed the minimum space measuring 100 sq. yards for the outlets. The investment in each parlour will be to the tune of Rs. 25,000, while the parlours will be required to have adequate storage capacity for the milk products.
