CHENNAI: The All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, on Thursday handed over Rs. 13 lakhs towards the family benefit fund for 52 members of the Anna Thozirchanga Peravai (ATP), the trade union wing of the party. Ms. Jayalalithaa handed over the cheques to the beneficiaries, belonging to the State and the Union Territory of Pondicherry, at the AIADMK office on Avvai Shanmugam Road here. Each of them received Rs. 25,000. She also released a souvenir on the achievements of the AIADMK Government during the last four years. The chairman of the party presidium and Finance Minister, C. Ponnaiyan, received the first copy. She gave a cheque for Rs. 33,000 to M. Sasidharan, the son of a party activist from Kancheepuram, to enable him to continue his education.
Solemnises wedding
She solemnised the wedding of a party functionary from Namakkal and christened the female babies of some party activists.
