35 taken ill after eating biriyani

CHENNAI: More than 35 persons including 20 children, of Thideer Nagar, Saidapet, took ill after consuming turkey biriyani. Police have detained four women who had distributed the foodstuff.

According to police, the four women - Nagammal, Dhanalakshmi, Selvi and Mary Stella of Thideer Nagar - went to work in a marriage hall in Little Mount on Wednesday. After work, the women took the left over food, which they brought to their residential colony and distributed it to neighbours on Thursday.
