Philips service week

Philips India Limited has announced a free service week from May 16 for its audio products, including CD systems, colour TVs, DVD players and home theatre systems. The free service will be available at its authorised centres in the twin cities - Star Services, West Marredpally, and Sri Vinayaka Electronics, Chapel Road, according to a press release.

Free health check-up

CDR Hospital will launch free health check-up programmes called `Saturday Clinics' from May 21. Specialists will counsel patients from 10 am to 2 pm. The hospital is also offering 30 to 50 per cent discount on various surgeries, packages and investigations.

Seminar on `Sastras'

The Hindi Mahavidyalaya Samiti will organise a seminar on `Sastras' on May 22 on its campus in Nallakunta. It will also conduct classes in July in astrology, vaastu, palmistry and numerology on Sundays for a nominal fee.

ICFAI varsity admissions

The last date for admission to Distance Learning Programs of ICFAI University is May 31. Students desirous of enrolling can approach the ICFAI centres at Nagarjuna Hills (23430412), Shankar Mutt (27630356), Madhapur (23100546), Dilsukhnagar (55843677), Kukatpally (55487577) and Secunderabad (55446762).

BIS officials raid packaged water unit

The premises of `Aqua Need', a packaged drinking water unit at Falaknuma, was raided by officials of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for selling water without a valid licence under a spurious `ISI' standard mark on Thursday.

In a press release here, R. Dhinakaran, Director, BIS, said a large quantity of packaged drinking water and packing material was seized during the raid.
