Sankara Jayanthi celebrated: Sankara Jayanthi was celebrated under the aegis of the Department of Sanskrit. Papers relating to advaita philosophy and teachings of Sree Sankara were presented on the occasion.

Guest lecturer: There is a temporary vacancy of a guest lecturer at the Institute of English. Appointment will be for one year on a monthly salary of Rs.8,000. Applicants should not be aged over 40 as on January 1, 2005. Applications can be submitted till May 31. Details can be had from the university.

Refresher course: Applications have been invited for the refresher course in English scheduled at the Academic Staff College from July 18 to August 8. The application forms can be had from the College office. Completed applications will be received till June 18.

News reading and compere course: Applications have been invited for admission to the news reading and compere course offered by the Centre for Adult Continuing Education and Extension. The last date for submitting applications is May 31. Details can be had from the centre at: 0471- 2302523.

Refresher course: Applications have been invited for the refresher course in environmental science scheduled at the Academic Staff College from July 15 to August 4. Applications can be submitted till June 30.
