KOCHI: Venu Gopalan Nair, Ansu Enterprises and Hotel Venus International, whose bids for about Rs. 300 crores worth of land north of Marine Drive were cancelled by the Goshree Islands Development Authority GIDA, have filed separate petitions in the High Court praying that the cancellation of land sale should not be carried out and that the GIDA general council meeting, scheduled for May 21, should be stayed. The petitions will come up for hearing on Friday. According to GIDA claims, the bids for the land were cancelled for violation of Clause 10 of the tender conditions which stipulated that bank guarantees for 20 per cent of the bid amount should be furnished within 180 days of the bids being accepted.
