Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Javelin Technologies Limited (JTL) has claimed to have completed acute animal toxicology studies for JTL003 which is expected to be used in the treatment of Mucosites.
In a press release issued here on Wednesday, the company said the studies were conducted successfully on mice and rats at the Department of Pharmacology at the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology and the `results clearly established that the JTL003 is safe to administer through oral route'.
It now plans to start final double blind clinical trials on the humans at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) once the Drug Controller clearances were obtained. The JTL release described Mucosites as one of the serious side-effects of radiation therapy.
