Jewellery, cash stolen from shop
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Thieves took away gold and cash, all worth Rs. 1.5 lakhs, from Bohra jewellery shop at Takara street in Pot Market of Secunderabad on Wednesday night. The miscreants gained entry into the double-storeyed building by removing the exhaust fan on the ground floor. The police suspect that at least two persons were involved in the crime.
According to the shop owner, Sandeep Jain, the thieves had stolen 15 tolas of gold, 15 kg of silver ornaments, Rs. 20,000 worth precious stones and Rs. 35,000 in cash. "It seems they removed the iron grills of the opening in the ceiling on the top floor to make their exit easier," the Mahankali ACP, Ranjeet Singh, said.
