HYDERABAD: K.V. Satya Pradeep and Ankireddy Geetanjali have secured a maximum of 140 marks each in BPC group in the Andhra Pradesh Residential Junior College (APRJC) common entrance test, results for which were released here on Thursday.

They belong to Andhra University and Sri Venkateswara University respectively. In Osmania University the top mark of 138 went to Vajha Myna (MPC) and Lanka Vivek (BPC).

Based on ranks

The Andhra Pradesh Residential Educational Institutions Society (APREIS) released results in a record time of 15 days.

The results were based on the ranks secured group-wise, university and district-wise. Of 70,078 students registered for the test, 62,514 attended the test.

D. Ravindranadham, Secretary, APREIS, who released the results, told presspersons that counselling for admission will begin on May 25 at the APRJC, Nagarjunasagar, on May 26 at Nimmakur and May 28 at Kodigenahalli in Anantapur district.

Admission in category `A' colleges would be open for all categories irrespective of their study. In category `B' colleges admission would be limited only to those who studied in residential schools under control of APREIS.

In category `B' colleges located at Hasanparthy (Warangal district) and Sarvail (Nalgonda), counselling would be held on May 27 and for colleges located at Tatipudi (Vizianagaram), Venkatagiri, Banavasi (Kurnool) and Gyrampalli (Chittoor) counselling would be on May 30.

Students who secured 1st to 10th ranks in the SSC 2005 would be given direct admission without counselling, Dr. Ravindranadham said.

He said existing seats in the Nagarjunasagar college had been increased from 115 to 200. From this academic year it had been proposed to offer integrated Intermediate course with EAMCET coaching.
