HYDERABAD:
The Langerhouz police on Thursday arrested three persons, including a history-sheeter, Mohd. Shareef, in connection with the alleged gangrape of a woman who had come to the city to get her jailed husband released on bail.
According to the West Zone DCP, N. Sanjay, the accused persons - Shareef and his associate, Dastagir - saw the woman alone at the Malakpet railway station on Tuesday night. As she could not board a train to Mahabubnagar, she engaged the autorickshaw of Dastagir to the Imliban bus station. Shareef too sat in the vehicle posing as a passenger. When the vehicle reached a secluded place, Shareef allegedly whipped out a knife and threatened to kill the woman if she raised an alarm. The accused, who were allegedly in an inebriated condition, then took her to a marble shop near Moghal ka nala, collected the keys from the watchman, Dhiren Kumar Rana, at knifepoint and allegedly sexually assaulted her, Mr. Sanjay said.
Later, Rana too allegedly raped her. The trio was picked up near the Golconda tombs on Thursday.
