15 naxals arrested
The Cyberabad police have reportedly taken into custody 15 naxals of the CPI Janashakti group, including its State leader, Sagar, on Thursday.
Sources said the arrested were active members of Manjeera, Kodavelli and Maneru dalams of the group. Activities of these dalams were focussed on the fringes of Ranga Reddy and Medak districts.
Internet café raided
Owner of an Internet cafe, Pratap Parida, was arrested by the Hyderabad Police Task Force (North) team on Thursday on the charge of exhibiting porno films on computers after downloading them from Internet. Three computers and accessories were seized from his possession, a press release said.
Held with pirated study material
A photostat copy centre owner, Mohd. Kaleem Ahmed, was picked up by police on Thursday for allegedly selling pirated study material of United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) belonging to Kaplan, a US-based private company.
A police task force team raided the shop at Khairatabad and seized the study material in the form of two CDs and 50 sets of hard copies, a press release said.
Indo American Professional Education Network Pvt. Ltd. is the only authorised agency in India to distribute the study material.
