HUDA vice-chief's parting gift

HYDERABAD:
The Hyderabad Urban Development Authority (HUDA) employees got a parting gift from their Vice-Chairman, G. Ashok Kumar, who has now taken charge as Cuddapah Collector.
Mr. Ashok Kumar, who handed over the charge temporarily to the Commissioner and Director, Municipal Administration Vijaykumar, released a cheque of Rs. 10 crores to the HUDA Employees' Pension and Gratuity Fund Trust to be managed by the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) in the presence of HUDA and LIC officials.
Talking to newspersons, Mr. Ashok Kumar said that HUDA employees wanted to have a trust that would guarantee the payment of their retirement benefits.
Achievements
During his tenure, HUDA master plan, CDA and HADA plans, Telugu Thalli flyover, restoration and development of Langer Houz lake park were completed and conservation work of Miralam tank and other lakes was taken up, apart from finalising the Outer Ring Road project, entering into an agreement with JBIC and JAICA for Rs. 300-crores Hussain Sagar clean-up project.
Mr. Ashok Kumar said that HUDA has been made customer and user-friendly by streamlining various procedures.
