NEW DELHI: The Delhi police have unearthed a factory manufacturing fake drugs of a well-known brand. The kingpin, who had two years experience of working in a pharmaceutical company, has been arrested. A huge quantity of fake drugs worth over Rs.25 lakhs has been recovered from his factory in North-West Delhi. On getting information that some unscrupulous elements were involved in manufacturing fake drugs of a well-known pharmaceutical company -- ZYG Pharma Pvt. Ltd. -- and running a factory from the Alipur area of North-West Delhi, the Crime Branch formed a team to investigate the matter. A decoy customer was sent to the factory to purchase fake `Quadriderm' ointment. As the deal was being struck, the police team raided the premises. Huge quantities of fake medicines, raw material, modern gadget and other equipment used for manufacturing and storing drugs, wrappers and cartons of the bona fide pharmaceutical company were recovered. The police also arrested Rakesh Kumar who was running the factory.
