COIMBATORE: The Vishwakarma Traditional Goldsmith Workers' Industrial Cooperative Society here has secured orders worth Rs. 20 lakhs from the workers of a tea factory near Udhagamandalam. With 102 members, the society achieved transactions for Rs. 80,000 this month and has a target of Rs. 15 crores for 2005-06. Society officials said that the Industrial Cooperative Tea Factory at Bikatty, near Udhagamandalam, had arranged for assistance for its workers interested in buying jewellery through the society. The exact requirements and working orders would be finalised next week. The gold smith society, formed by the District Industries' Centre, was suffering owing to inadequate working capital.
