CHENNAI: Prayer meetings, mass poor feedings, blood donation and free health camps marked the 14th death anniversary of the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, on Saturday. An all-religious prayer meeting was organised at the leader's memorial at Sriperumbudur, near here, where he was assassinated. Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president G.K. Vasan, Union Minister E.V.K.S. Elangovan, MPs and MLAs from Tamil Nadu and a large contingent of workers participated in the meeting. They also placed wreaths at the memorial. Earlier, Mr. Vasan and State leaders paid floral tributes to the portrait of Rajiv Gandhi at the party headquarters, Satyamurthi Bhavan.
Blood donation camp
Party workers in different parts of the State organised blood donation and free health camps. They distributed notebooks and textbooks to school students.
