CHITRADURGA: Three persons, two from the same family, were killed on the spot and four were injured when two lorries collided on Saturday at 11 a.m. on National Highway (NH) 13 in Turuvanoor police station limits of Chitradurga district. The police gave the names of the deceased as Susheela Hanumanthappa (35), her daughter, Shilpa Hanumanthappa (14), and Raju (28), the driver of the mini lorry, which was said to be on its way to Bagalkot. The injured have been identified by the police as Hanumantappa, Sanjaya Kumar, Kiran Kumar and Subhash, all from the family. According to sources, Mr. Hanumanthappa, who was working in Bangalore earlier, was recently transferred to Bagalkot, and was shifting his family and belongings in a mini lorry on Saturday morning when the accident occurred. The injured have been admitted to a hospital in Davanagere. Turuvanoor police have registered a case.
