Southern Railway AGM injured in car accident

CHENNAI:
The Southern Railway Additional General Manager, R. Gopinathan Nair, and his wife had a miraculous escape, when the car in which they were travelling met with an accident near Sullurpeta, 80 km from here on Saturday morning.
Mr. Nair was on his way to Sullurpeta for an inspection when the vehicle dashed against the parapet wall of a culvert and rolled down. Mr. Nair suffered a fracture in his left wrist, while his wife had a minor scalp injury. Both of them were taken to the Railway Hospital at Perambur here, where Mr. Nair was operated on. They are now recovering. The driver was treated in a local hospital.
