Congress organises programmes on Rajiv's death anniversary



MOVING FORWARD: Former MP Vinaya Kumar Sorake leading the Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Sadbhavana Rally in Mangalore on Saturday.

MANGALORE: The Congress here on Saturday organised two different programmes on the occasion of the 14th death anniversary of Congress leader and former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi.

Sportspersons and Youth Congress members participated in the Sadbhavana Rally, which passed through various parts of the city and converged at the University College at Hampankatta for a day-long seminar on "Rajiv Gandhi - life and works." The seminar was attended by people from various walks of, who highlighted the political and social career of Rajiv Gandhi. The former MP Vinaya Kumar Sorake led the rally.

At the second function held at the Congress office, the former Minister B. Ramanatha Rai called on the youth to emulate the life of Rajiv Gandhi by showing concern towards the marginalised classes. Congress workers organised blood donation camps on the occasion.
