MADURAI: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited launched its `Hi-Speed Diesel' here on Saturday in an effort to provide `value-added service to customers.' K.H. Subramanian, Area Marketing Manager, launched the eco-friendly fuel, which has been launched already in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Hi-Speed Diesel works on the patented Greenburn Combustion Technology and contains special cleansing additives sourced from Afton Chemical Corporation, USA. BPCL claims the diesel will `clean your engine even as you drive' by clearing the fuel injectors clogged with deposits and prevent the formation of new deposits, thus powering the engine with maximum power. It also assures complete fuel combustion resulting in fuel economy, peak engine performance and a cleaner engine leading to a cleaner environment. The diesel promises to save on the vehicle's maintenance cost, improve drivability, provide storage stability and ensure longer engine life. The fuel technology assures that it will be able to reduce particle content by 14 per cent and black smoke by 22 per cent. Mr. Subramanian said that the new product would result in better mileage, ranging from 3 to 4 per cent. While the diesel would have no bearing on noise emission from the vehicle, it would help minimise it by cleaning the engine of deposits, he said.
