MADURAI: A weeklong training schedule has been announced by the School Education Department for all Plus Two teachers in the district to handle the new syllabus being introduced from the coming academic year. The training sessions would be held from May 23 to 29 at different schools in the city and the department has asked all the teachers to attend the in-service training for all subjects. As per the schedule, training will be held at O. C. P. M. Girls Higher Secondary School for Mathematics, Business Mathematics and Statistics, and at American College Higher Secondary School for History, Political Science, Geography and Ethics. From May 24 to 28, training sessions will be conducted at Nirmala Girls Higher Secondary School for Physics, Nursing, Economics, Nutrition and Home Science. For English, the training schedule is from May 25 to 29 at St. Britto Higher Secondary School. Training for Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology and Biochemistry teachers will be conducted from May 25 to 29 at Sourashtra Boys Higher Secondary School. For teachers handling Tamil and Tamil (non-detailed), Accountancy and Commerce subjects, the training is from May 25 to 29 at Capron Hall Girls Higher Secondary School. Department authorities said teachers must attend the training programme without fail, as it would help them take classes effectively.
