Software engineer robbed

BANGALORE: An armed gang waylaid a software engineer and robbed him of a gold chain, mobile phone and cash in Ashoknagar police station limits on Thursday night.

The police said that around 10 p.m., three men waylaid Nagesh Ullal, a software engineer with Ness Technologies on Bride Street in Langford Road, when he was walking on Curly Street in Richmond Town.

They threatened him with a knife and relived him of the gold chain worth Rs. 10,000, the mobile phone and a wallet containing Rs. 350 and credit cards.On a complaint by Ullal, the Ashoknagar police have registered a case.

House burgled

Thieves broke into the house of Arogya Mary at Devasandra in K.R. Puram police station limits and made away with gold ornaments worth Rs. 80,000 and cash.

The theft took place between May 15 and 19 when Mary had been to Austin Town for her husband's death anniversary.

The thieves, who entered the house by breaking open the rear door, had ransacked it, the police said.

The K.R. Puram police have registered a case.
