G. Satyanarayana of the Department of Sociology has been appointed Principal, University College of Arts and Social Sciences, Osmania University, replacing M. Venkateshwar.

PCB competitions

for children

On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, the State Pollution Control Board (PCB) will organise competitions in association with Jawahar Bal Bhavan for children in the age group of 3 to 15 years. Competitions will be held in painting, group dance, environmental quiz (written), clay model making, essay writing, elocution and story writing by seeing pictures on the theme `Green cities, plan for the planet.' Adventure Club founder for Mussourie meet

The founder of the Adventure Club of Andhra Pradesh, K. Ranga Rao, has been selected from the State to attend the World Mountaineering and Tourism meet at Mussourie from May 26.

The meet is being organised by the Himalayan Environment Trust along with the Ministry of Tourism, the Indian Mountaineering Foundation.

Kids Carnival

at Fun Town

Fun Town in the NTR Gardens is organising a special summer event titled `Kids Carnival,' which will continue till schools reopen in the twin cities. Fun Town has special attractions in the form of a simulator, christened `Time Machine,' apart from video games and a 3-D movie facility.
