Jet launches London service

MUMBAI: Jet Airways launched its first inter-continental forenoon flight by linking Mumbai with London Heathrow by a non-stop flight. The day flight 9W 118 (Mumbai-London) will depart from Mumbai (except Mondays and Thursdays) at 1320 hours and arrive at London at 1830 hours.

Every Monday, this flight will depart Mumbai at 1145 hours and arrive at London Heathrow at 1655 hours. On Thursdays, flight 9W 118 will leave Mumbai at 1230 hours and arrive at London Heathrow at 1740 hours. From London 9W 117 will depart daily at 2125 hours and arrive at Mumbai at 1050 hours the following morning. The first flight took off this morning and the inaugural return fare in economy is Rs. 23,000.

For the operations of the A340-300E aircraft, Jet has signed up with Lufthansa Technik for maintenance support and assignment of qualified engineers. Furthermore, Jet have strengthened their operations team by appointing Capt. Gustav Baldauf as Vice President-Flight Operations.

Prepayment to IDFC

PTI reports:

Jet Airways has paid Rs. 223.90 crore to Infrastructure Development Finance Company as part prepayment of its subordinate debt assistance availed from the latter.

IDFC had agreed to accept prepaymemt of its subordinate debt assistance to Jet Airways and pursuant to the understanding, Rs. 223.90 crore have been remitted towards part prepayment, Jet Airways informed the Bombay Stock Exchange here. The balance amount outstanding towards the subordinate debt would be paid on or before May 31.
