PONDICHERRY: A ten member Parliamentary Committee on Petitions will have discussions here on May 28 with the officials of Health and Labour Departments here to enlist their views on certain matters of Health and Labour departments, an official source said here on Monday. The Committee headed by Mr. Jana Krishnamoorthy, will consist of the MPs from Rajya Sabha, and is visiting Pondicherry as part of the efforts to enlist the views of State Governments. The Union Textiles Minister Mr. S.Vaghela, will visit Pondicherry on May 27, to formalise the take over by the Pondicherry Administration of the Sri Bharathi Mills, and the Swadeshi cotton mills from the National Textiles Corporation (NTC). An official source said that a formal exchange of documents to effect the transfer of ownership will take place in the presence of the Central Minister on the premises of the Swadeshi Cotton Mills here that day. Already an agreement was signed between the NTC and the Pondicherry Textiles Corporation (PTC) here at the official level on April 1, to effect the transfer of the two mills from NTC to PTC.
