Apollo Hospitals net up 33 p.c.

CHENNAI: Apollo Hospitals Enterprises has posted an increase of 33 per cent in its net profit at Rs. 49.20 crore in the 12 months ended March 31, 2005 against Rs. 37.10 crore in the corresponding period in the previous year. The company's revenue rose to Rs. 596 crore from Rs. 500 crore, a growth of 19 per cent. The board has recommended a dividend of 40 per cent for 2004-05.

Commenting on the performance, Dr. Prathap C. Reddy, said in a release, "The key drivers of Apollo's continued excellence are the focus on clinical excellence, appropriate technology and a patient centric approach. We look forward to a year of high growth."

Apollo Hospitals Group is bracing itself for continued dominance in the healthcare sector. The group's investments and initiatives are focussed on increasing its dominant market share in super speciality healthcare services in India and expanding the group's footprint in the south Asian region.

"The increased profitability is the result of increased utilisation of assets and an appropriate case mix. As an integrated healthcare provider, we are able to leverage our presence in multiple segments of the health care value chain," said Suneeta, the group's Finance Director.
