Father, son

die of burns

An eight-year-old boy, Edukondalu and his father, Srinivasulu, who sustained burns after the cooking gas exploded on May 19, died on Monday while undergoing treatment. Both father and son suffered only 30 per cent burns, but the hot weather made their recovery difficult, the Balanagar ACP, M. Satyanarayana Reddy, said.

Scientist electrocuted

A scientist of DRDO in Chennai, A. Suresh Kumar, 24, got electrocuted in his house at New Bowenpally on Sunday while repairing the switchboard. Kumar had come to city to find a groom for his younger sister. He sustained serious burns and died on the way to the hospital, the Bowenpally police said.

House burgled

Thieves took away Rs. 80,000 in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs. 20,000, from the home of Shakaramma, near Gusa mandir in Mangalhat on Sunday. She had kept the money and jewellery for her third daughter's marriage to be held soon.

Dies of electric shock

A newspaper delivery man, Venkateswarlu, 23, got electrocuted when he came in contact with snapped electric wires that were hanging from a building at Chaitanyapuri Rajanigandha complex on Monday.
