IPI post for Amit Mathew

KOCHI: Amit Mathew, Resident Editor of Malayala Manorama in Kochi, has been elected executive board member of the Vienna-based International Press Institute (IPI).

At 31, he is the youngest person to hold the post.

He was elected at the IPI's 54th general assembly held in Nairobi.

He has six years of editorial and management experience in dailies, television, radio and IT in India and abroad.

He joined Malayala Manorama in June 2001.

Mr. Mathew is the son of Philip Mathew, Managing Editor of Malayala Manorama and Chairman of PTI.

The IPI, an organisation of editors and senior journalists, works for freedom of the press globally and strives for excellence in journalism. — PTI
