Two children drowned in quarry

PALAKKAD: Two children drowned in a quarry near the Kallekkad Armed Reserve Police camp near the town on Tuesday evening.

The deceased are Sajith (10), son of Abdul Jabbar, Kattur House, Kodumthirappally, and Naushad (10), son of Moosa of Kezakkemuri Puthen Pedika, Kodumthirappally. The children, from the nearby Kadumthirappally village, had gone to take bath in the granite quarry which was 10 feet deep.
