Two prisoners escape from jail

KANNUR: Two prisoners convicted of theft and house-breaking escaped from the Central Prison here on Tuesday. The police have sounded an alert to nab the two.

The convicts are Alakan and Manikantan from Tamil Nadu. They were suspected to have escaped by climbing up the back wall of the prison around 6 a.m. after they were brought out of their cell in the prison. The two prisoners were suspected to have used water pipes to clamber up the prison wall.
