BANGALORE: The Rotary District 3190 announced its annual Group Study Exchange (GSE) Programme for Talented Professionals on Tuesday. "This is an opportunity for young professionals and business leaders to study another country, its people and institutions and also how their own profession is practised in that country. These cultural ambassadors will further international understanding and goodwill by meeting, talking and living with each other in the spirit of fellowship," the Rotary District Governor, S.S. Ramdas, told presspersons here. This all-expenses paid programme pairs up with Rotary Districts in different countries to send and receive professional, non-Rotarian study groups for four weeks. This year, a select GSE Team of five young professionals and business leaders and a Rotarian leader will visit Wales, covering south and mid-Wales in October 2005. They will study and learn how their vocations are practiced in the host country and will participate in cultural activities of that country. The Rotary District 3190 is inviting applications from people in the age group of 25 to 40 who are residents of the Rotary District 3190 comprising the revenue districts of Bangalore, Mandya, Tumkur, Kolar and Chittoor in Andhra Pradesh. Individuals who have good academic achievement engaged in business or profession for at least two years, with proficiency in English and extensive knowledge of Indian culture and current affairs (talents in fine arts will be an added qualification) may contact the president of the nearest Rotary Club or the Chairman-GSE Programme on Ph: 9845017768, 26590198. The last day for submitting applications is May 31. The Group Study Exchange is a cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women between two Rotary Districts in the initial years of their professional lives. The programme is designed to develop professional and leadership skills among young people.
