Heat wave claims tiger's life in Nandan Kanan zoo

Zoo authorities are taking measures to save animals and birds

BHUBANESWAR: A white tiger died at the Nandan Kanan Zoological Park here on Monday morning reportedly due to the heat wave conditions prevailing in Orissa for more than a week.

Fifteen-year-old Jawahar had been ailing for the past few days and blisters had formed on the body. Zoo officials said the exact cause of the death would be known only after they receive the post-mortem report.
