CBSE Class X results: girls shine again

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education declared the Class 10 results in most of the country on Tuesday, but students in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and eastern India will have an anxious wait for two more days.

The results for Ajmer, Chandigarh and Chennai regions of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) were posted on its websites www.cbse.nic.in, www.results.nic.in and www.cbseresults.nic.in at 6 p.m.

The results are also available on interactive voice response system and SMS from a number of mobile operators.

Haryana, Chandigarh, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Pondicherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Daman and Diu come under these regions.

The results for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Uttaranchal, Jharkhand and the North-Eastern States would be declared at 6 p.m. on May 26, a CBSE spokesperson said.

After outdoing boys in the Class XII examination, girls have done better than boys in the Class X examination too.

Like in the Class XII examination, Chennai region has topped the list of successful candidates in this examination too, securing the highest pass percentage of 90.74, followed by Ajmer (87.70) and Chandigarh (82.21).

In Chennai, the girls' pass percentage was 90.86 compared to 90.65 of the boys, but in Ajmer they out did the boys by a fair margin with a pass percentage of 89.05 compared to 86.9 of the boys. — PTI, UNI
