HYDERABAD: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) petitioned the Chief Election Commissioner on Tuesday seeking videography of Telugu Desam Party president N.Chandrababu Naidu's campaign tour of Penukonda on May 26 and 27. The TDP leader was visiting Penukonda only to vitiate the atmosphere and create law and order problems, the CLP alleged. In a letter to the Election Commission, the Government Chief Whip, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, and Bajireddy Goverdhan, MLA, said they had reliable information that Mr. Naidu was planning to abort the Government's efforts to conduct the elections in a peaceful manner. The violence unleashed by the TDP cadres at the behest of its leaders in the wake of Paritala Ravindra's killing had resulted in Rs. 20-crore loss to the exchequer. In a repeat performance, the TDP leaders had provoked their men to attack the police with bombs and bottles on the day Paritala Suneeta filed her nomination. They said they had evidence to prove that the TDP had was planning disturbances to scare away voters.
