CPI for changes in proposed job scheme
Staff Reporter
|
Bill to be introduced in Parliament in July
|
HYDERABAD:
The CPI has asked the Government to provide a minimum of 150 days work for the needy instead of 100 days as envisaged earlier.
Also, the party wanted the scheme to be extended to every geographical area affected by adverse seasonal conditions, instead of 150 identified locations across the length and breadth of the country under the proposed Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS), the State secretary, S. Sudhakar Reddy, MP, said.
At a press conference here on Tuesday, he said it was unfortunate that the parliamentary committee on EGS could not meet as proposed, because of the Bharatiya Janata Party's boycott of Parliament recently.
