THRISSUR: The Enquiry Commissioner and Special Judge M. V. Viswanathan today sentenced K. S. Nazar, former shop manager of the Maveli store at Veli in Fort Kochi, to one-year rigorous imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs. 1 lakh for misappropriation of funds. Nazar had misappropriated Rs. 1.36 lakhs from the Maveli Store between April 30, 1996, and March 26, 1997, the prosecution maintained. The second accused in the case K. K. Subramanian was acquitted.
