BJP campaign

against price rise

NEW DELHI: The Delhi BJP has decided to launch a campaign against "rise in prices'' during the Congress-led UPA Government's rule at the Centre. The decision was taken at a meeting of its office-bearers and district presidents here on Tuesday.

The Delhi BJP president, Harsh Vardhan, held the Union Government responsible for the price rise. The prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas had doubled since the installation of the present regime, he added.

Russian painting exhibition opened

NEW DELHI: A week-long exhibition by well-known Russian painter Tatyana Vavrzhina was opened by Nataliya Trubnikova, wife of the Russian Ambassador to India, at the Russian Centre of Science and Culture here on Monday.

Based in Moscow, Tatyana has participated in several exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Many museums too have displayed her works in their collections. Titled ``I Love This World'', the latest exhibition provides glimpses of old Russian, Italian and Dutch cities.

Health check-up camp at Telegu School

NEW DELHI: A three-day naturopathy, ayurveda and yoga health check-up camp organised by Nandavanam Health Centre and SITA All-India Research and Social Services at Telugu School premises in R.K.Puram ended on Monday.

The objective of the free check-up camp was to introduce and create awareness about drugless treatment available for diseases like arthritis, diabetes, skin allergies and asthma through therapies and massages.

Electricity supply

to be affected

NEW DELHI: Due to maintenance work, electricity supply would be affected from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Ghevara, Nizampur, Chandpur, Chandpur Khurd, Rasulpur, Mazri, Karala, Jheemar Pura, Mazra Dabas, Zafarpur, Najafgarh, Dichau, Nangli Sakarawati, Kanjhawala, Kakrola, Uttam Nagar, Bindapur, Hastsal, Paschim Puri, Nangloi and Janakpuri.

Sub-station inaugurated

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Power Minister, Haroon Yusuf, inaugurated the newly-installed BSES 990 KVA package sub-station at Gali Hishamuddin in Chandni Chowk over the weekend.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yusuf observed that with the installation of the new sub-station the residents and shopkeepers of the area could now look forward to consistent power. The area Councillor, Jameer Ahmed, and senior officers of the power utility were also present.

The sub-station has been built at an estimated cost of Rs. 16 lakhs.
