VELLORE: C. Varadan (35) of Jiddapalli colony near Gudiyatham, a remand prisoner in the sub-jail, following his arrest by the Gudiyatham taluk police in a prohibition case on May 6 died in the Government Vellore Medical College Hospital at Adukkamparai near here on Monday night. According to the police, as the health of Varadan, a tuberculosis patient, deteriorated on Monday, he was shifted to the central prison here. The Revenue Divisional Officer conducted an inquest. Relatives on Tuesday protested the delay in informing them about the death.
