BJP strategy meet today

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Bharatiya Janata Party will hold a brain-storming session ("chintan baithak") on May 25 and 26 at Kochi for deciding its strategy in next year's elections to the Kerala Assembly, according to M. Venkaiah Naidu, vice-president.

One such session would be held for Pondicherry on May 27, he said. The party general secretaries, Pramod Mahajan, Arun Jaitley and Sanjay Joshi, were expected to attend the sessions. Besides, L. Ganesan and S. Thirunavukkarasar, "prabharis" for Kerala and Pondicherry respectively, would take part in the deliberations.

The Tamil Nadu party unit would organise State-wide demonstrations on Wednesday and Thursday to protest the dissolution of the Bihar Assembly, according to G. Kumaravelu, general secretary.

Referring to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam president, M. Karunanidhi's defence of the move, Mr. Naidu asked how those who had been raising the issue of State autonomy vigorously could support the Governor's action.
