Camp held

Lotus Eye Care Hospital conducted an eye camp at Tirupur jointly with the District Blindness Control Society and Lions Club of Tirupur Central. More than 170 patients were screened and 29 of them were selected for free cataract surgery.

Programme

Sarva Siksha Abhyan, Coimbatore, and SAVE, Tirupur, will organise cultural programmes on awareness on education on Jail Grounds on May 28 and June 5.

Training

The Kovai Child Labour Abolition Support Society organised a training programme for panchayat heads on child labour abolition. Inaugurating the programme, the Project Officer of the District Rural Development Agency, P. Jeyabalakrishnan, urged the Block Development Officers, panchayat heads and self-help group members to jointly work towards eradicating child labour.
