BANGALORE: Three persons were killed in accidents reports in the city on Monday and Tuesday. Two brothers were killed when the two-wheeler they were riding was hit by a mini-lorry near MTB Choultry on Ring Road in Mahadevapura at 9.15 p.m. on Monday. The police said the pillion rider, Nagarjun (18), a second pre-university student at Ambedkar College, died on the spot. His brother Manohar (20), a 1st year B.Sc. student at St. Joseph's College, died when he was being taken to hospital. The bodies were handed over to their parents after post-mortem. The K.R. Puram traffic police are investigating. In another accident, Afzal (35) was killed when the two-wheeler he was riding was hit by a van at Gandhi Bazar on Tuesday evening. The pillion rider, Tabrez (25), was injured, the police said. He has been admitted to hospital.
Burglary attempt
A burglar attempted to break into the "VIP Room No. 2" of the Legislators' House (LH) last Thursday. The Estate Officer of the LH Mallappa Kale, has lodged a complaint with the Vidhana Soudha police.
Five arrested
The City Crime Branch officials have arrested Bagaram (24), Gevaram (27), Vasanthram (30), K.R. Patel (22) and Dilip Kumar (23) and recovered 250 fake "mehndi" packets, a packing machine and raw material used to make the powder, valued at Rs. 75,000 in all, from them. They allegedly made mehndi and sold it under the name of a popular brand in the Yelahanka Satellite Town police station limits, Srimarampuram and Chickpet.
Held on theft charge
The city police have arrested a man who had allegedly stolen credit cards from a software engineer at a gymnasium in Sadashivanagar and used them to purchase electronic goods valued at Rs. 52,000.
Theft at gymnasium?
The police said that on his return from the gymnasium, Ramakrishna, software engineer, noticed that his credit cards, Rs. 1,200 in cash and driving licence, which he had kept in his trouser pockets, were missing. He lodged a complaint with the police. He found that the credit cards had been used. Gururaj (25) of Gayatrinagar has been arrested and credit cards, Rs. 600 in cash, two mobile phones and a home theatre system were recovered from him, according to the police.
