Woman attempts suicide at HC
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
A woman, who was deserted by her husband, allegedly attempted suicide at the high court by consuming sleeping pills on Tuesday.
Swarna (35), along with daughter, Bhavani, walked into the court building around 2.30 p.m. and went to the third floor where the Legal Services Authority office is located. She then sent her daughter to bring water and later fell unconscious in the corridor after consuming some pills.
The court's security staff alerted the Charminar police who rushed her to Osmania General Hospital where she is undergoing treatment.
"She is conscious but is not able to give any statement," the Charminar Inspector, R. Kosal Ram, said.
However, speaking to reporters at the hospital, Swarna, a native of Suraram village in Mahabubnagar, said that she resorted to the extreme step as uncertainty loomed large over her daughter's future.
