Bus operators oppose move for new permits
KOCHI: The proposal to issue city permits to 100 more private buses will add to the traffic congestion in Kochi, said the general secretary of the Ernakulam District Private Bus Operators' Association, M.B. Satyan. It will also affect the income of the existing bus operators. Already, there are routes in which two buses start at the same time from the bus stand. Moreover, it will go against the spirit of diverting some buses through the Kaloor-Kadavanthra Road, he said. Staff Reporter
