DHAKA: Two children were killed and more than 100,000 persons were forced out of their homes on Wednesday as flash floods coupled with torrential rains hit northeastern Bangladesh, officials and media reports said. A teenaged boy and a school girl drowned in flood waters, the private NTV television channel said. Officials reached by telephone in Sylhet district said initially it was estimated some 50,000 persons were forced out of their homes in neighbouring Moulavibazar district due to the sudden deluge, but water spread overnight into new areas.
