THRISSUR: The Communist Party of India-backed All-India Kisan Sabha will take out marches to Krishi Bhavans, banks and Government offices from June 20 to 26 as part of a campaign to save the agriculture sector. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, K. Prakash Babu and Satyan Mokeri, AIKS State president and secretary, called for an appraisal of the functioning of the Department of Agriculture. The 16th AIKS State conference called for improvement of irrigation facilities at Palakkad, Kuttanad, Thrissur and Onakara, procurement of paddy and pepper by Government agencies and measures to check import of pepper.
