Mediator lynched

TIRUCH: : A 22-year-old man was killed after he was attacked when he went to mediate in a tiff that broke out between two families over water tapping at Kan Dheenthayal Nagar near Manikandam on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as Ramesh Kumar, who succumbed at the Government Hospital here in the early hours of Wednesday. A wordy quarrel broke out between Sarasu and Nasiya over water tapping. It took a different turn with members of both families clashing over the issue.

When Ramesh Kumar, along with a few others, tried to mediate and pacify both the families, he was attacked with sticks and aruval. The police arrested seven members of Sarasu's family including her and four members of Nasiya's family including her father.
