COIMBATORE: The Communist Party of India MP from Coimbatore, K. Subbarayan, has called for steps for proper disposal of waste at the compost yard in Vellalore near the city.
Unsafe disposal
Stating that the condition at the yard due to unsafe disposal posed health hazards, Mr. Subbarayan hinted at a protest to demand a solution to the problem faced by the people in the colonies around the yard. He said in a release on Wednesday that an all-party meeting would be held in Kurichi on June 1 to draw up an action plan for seeking measures to end unsafe disposal at the yard.
