IPS probationer suspended
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Kheval Khurana, the IPS probationer who was allegedly involved in a brawl with a pan shop owner at Rajendrangar along with three of his colleagues, was suspended by the Sardar Vallabbhai Patel National Police Academy based on a `preliminary' report. The NPA authorities, however, made it clear that the action was initiated based on a preliminary departmental inquiry. The final report, however, was still awaited. Disciplinary action would also be initiated against the other IPS probationers, if they were found at fault during the final report.
Meanwhile, the Rajendranagar police, who have registered a case against the IPS probationers following a complaint by the pan shop owner, Siddappa, said their probe was yet to be completed. Siddappa, who sustained injuries in the alleged assault, is still undergoing treatment at the Apollo hospital.
