HYDERABAD: An unidentified man was found dead inside a sump in Gandhi Hospital at Secunderabad on Wednesday under suspicious circumstances. As it was not being used, the sump had no water and was filled with garbage. A security guard, Ramana, grew suspicious when foul smell emanated from the sump. When he went inside the sump, he found the body, believed to be that of a beggar. But, the Chilkalguda police were baffled after noticing some bloodstains at the spot. Incidentally, the victim was clad in clothes that were generally used for patients undergoing surgery. A couple of hand gloves were also found beside the body leading to further confusion. A case of suspicious death was registered, the Gopalpuram ACP, Mohd. Tajuddin, said. A woman and husband were electrocuted in their house near Moghalpura water tank in the early hours of Wednesday. Zarina Wahab (35) suffered shock as electricity passed through an iron wire when she was drying clothes. Alerted by her cries, her husband, Mohd. Ali Khan (48), rushed to her rescue. But he, too, suffered shock.
Daughter's effort in vain
Both of them sustained burns and died on the spot. Their eldest daughter, Saleh (13), tried in vain to save them. But, the girl got frightened after sustaining shock while trying to pull away her parents, the Moghalpura police said. Khan was working as a labourer in a cane furniture shop.
