Isolated rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has set in over south Andaman sea and over southern parts of south east Bay. Rainfall occurred at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh and mainly dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema, Telangana and north interior Karnataka.

On Wednesday, the maximum tempuerature rose appreciably at one or two places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, rose at one or two places over rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, fell appreciably at one or two places over Telangana, Rayalaseema, fell at one or two places over rest Rayalaseema and changed little elsewhere over the region. They were appreciably above normal at many places over coastal Andhra Prades, Kerala, Karnataka, at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, above normal at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest Kerala, rest Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Telangana, rest coastal Andhra Pradesh and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

Badrachalam recorded the highest maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius in the region.

FORECAST (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places over Kerala, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, and north coastal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated rain or thoundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Telangana, Rayalaseema and south coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (valid until Friday morning): Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over and Pondicherry.
