Collector discharged
from hospital
The Deputy Director of Fisheries Department, Sheikh Jalaluddin; Swami Gurudasananda of the Mysore Citizens' Forum (the NGO that donated boats to the fishermen), and others who fell into sea were also discharged. The Collector thanked Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for enquiring about his health after the incident. Chengalpattu range DIG office shifted to Kanchi
The new office is located at a building opposite the Special Investigation Team office (set up to probe Sankararaman murder case) on the DRO Camp Office Road. Entrance exam: PMK plans protest

32 child labourers rescued in Pollachi
They were rescued from 26 establishments and cases were filed against them under the Child Labour (Abolition and Rehabilitation) Act, 1986, says C. Thangavel, inspector. In all, 106 cases were booked this month and over 150 child workers rescued from automobile, jewellery and brick industry in Coimbatore, Pollachi and Udumalpet. Staff Reporter

Sevai Illam invites applications
